Prevention of mold deformation during heat treatment

Abst:

Under the premise of ensuring the hardness of the mold, pre-cooling, step cooling quenching or temperature quenching processes are used as much as possible.

For precision and complex molds, nitriding heat treatment plants recommend vacuum heating quenching and cryogenic treatment after quenching as far as conditions permit.

For some sophisticated molds, pre-heat treatment, aging heat treatment, tempering and nitridation heat treatment can be used to control the precision of the mold.

When nitriding heat treatment plant repairs defects such as die blisters, pores, and wear, it uses cold welding machines and other repair equipment with small thermal impact to avoid deformation during the repair process.

The design of the mold structure should be reasonable, the thickness should not be too wide, and the shape should be symmetrical. Experts said that for large deformation molds, it is necessary to master the deformation law and reserve the processing allowance. For large, precise and complex molds, a combination structure can be used.

Precise and complex molds must be pre-softened to eliminate residual stresses generated during machining.
